Hi! Congrats on preparing for your first npc competition! First, I would recommend looking into an experienced and certified coach who can train and help you along the way if you don’t already have one. If you are choosing not to have one then I would strongly suggest researching and learning as much as you can about proper diet/ nutrition/ training.
To answer your questions, if abs are your main focus then I would start by incorporating ab exercises and training them regularly in order to gain muscle there. However, they will only become defined through proper dieting and lowering body fat. FYI when it comes to bikini, the most focused body part is the legs/ glutes. Regardless of what your body looks like, that in general should be your main focus. Also, I’m not sure what “hip line” you are referring to but again, building up certain muscles and getting lean enough to be able to see them is the whole idea. The “v shape” on the arms would be the shoulders that can only be built with strict exercises and lifting heavy. Proper diet and training is absolutely crucial when prepping for a contest and getting the best results. I had my tans done professionally by reputable companies in my area. There is also something called “pro tan” I think you can get and do yourself. I’ve never used it but I know people who have for competitions and it came out nicely. 100%. I practice what I preach and I believe with enough dedication, focus, and hard work, anything is possible. I have seen 40+ competitors who have had children and look better than ever! I’ve also seen competitors who were once overweight transform and get on stage. More than half the battle is in your mind. Strengthen yourself mentally and your body will follow. Above all, have faith, take good care of yourself, eat right, train hard and don’t ever give up. Competing is not easy but it should be fun and something you are truly passionate about. Take small steps in the direction you choose to explore and see where that takes you. Good luck!

Ah thank you! I am naturally slim but I did have to build and lean out over the past months. I’m so fascinated with the human body and how it can be sculpted. I am currently ‘losing weight’ or ‘cutting’ (bf) for my next competition but I can’t wait to make improvements and build more.
